Don't let this small venue fool you. It may only seat up to 85 people, but the shows put on at the Renaissance Theatre are among the best in the South. The theatre was built in 1927 and had several different uses, such as a barber shop, movie theater and gymnasium. The Theatre closed in 1955 due to hard economic times but in 2000, it was re-opened only for putting on musicals and plays. This petite theatre has made a big impact on the arts and theater culture in downtown Huntsville, Alabama.
